David Beatty’s career has spanned three decades and three continents, Europe, Asia and Africa. Born in London he began documenting projects for aid and development agencies, and later specialized in travel reportage.

During the eighties and nineties his work took him to North Africa, Central Asia, India, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and Madagascar on travel assignments.

His work has appeared in numerous international journals, among them Asiaweek, Time Magazine, Time-Life Books, The Observer, The Geographical, Geo and The Smithsonian.

His travel pictures have illustrated several books on countries such as Greece, Morocco, Tunisia and India.

Currently based in Kenya, his company, "The Image Factory" is one of the leading commercial photography studios in East Africa.

As Kenya’s best known fashion photographer he has contributed regularly to the Cover stories and Fashion pages of  a number of top-selling fashion and life style magazines (Drum, True Love),  South African brands owned by Media24. 

His portfolio includes numerous campaigns for multinational companies, and his advertising work specializes in portraiture and beauty photography for brands like Nivea, Limara, and Lux. His corporate clients include Beiersdorf, Sara Lee, Unilever, Reckitt Benkisser, and Coca-Cola.
